Windows Media Player 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I have media player 11 for xp on my desktop. The problem is I can play music properly but if I try to play a video on an email or use my webcam or use the DVD drive for video, the media player stalls and the whole computer slows down to the point that I have to restart the computer to be able to do anything on it. I would like to know if anyone can help with this problem.

Hi, thanks for posting.

Not sure why it's freezing though my first suggestion would be to install the k-lite codec bundle which includes a media player by default. Try this link to download it: www.free-codecs.com/K_lite_codec_pack_download.htm

The standard one should be fine. If the player works without missing a beat i would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling windows media player 11.

Thank you

Newsflash

Install your k-lite codec bundle now to ensure you can watch the biggest volume of videos available on the net today. Codecs are used for compressing video and uncompressed the video. There are many different types of compression hence in order for your computer to understand how the video is compressed you need to install a codec bundle. Visit our support video section and learn how.
