Pornography, Snuff Videos, Pedophiles, Virus and Scams are all present on today's Internet. The best way to combat against these types of threats is to install a free program by the name of K9 Web Protection. This software will block Internet access of various categories specified by yourself. It will also keep logs of where your children have been surfing and various other activity. The install is super simple and i highly recommend it. You can get the software from http://www1.k9webprotection.com/.

Advanced Google Search Tips

E-mail Print
Google can tell you the answer to just about any question you may think of just by type the question into the search engine and clicking search. The feeling button will just bypass the listing phase of google and led you straight to the web page google thinks your looking for. "But there are so many sites out there?" Whilst that's true you can limit google almost the same way i described in an earlier post "How to pawn eBay". You can type your keyword in and then use the minus sign after it to eliminate web articles you do not want to see. For instance if we were looking for a car though we don't like red we could type "Car -red" also if we wanted to limit our search to government sites only we could type "site: .gov Car -red" another great trick is the use of "define:" and it return the definition much like a dictionary of the keyword that follows. IE. "define: quantitative" last of all if your looking for a phone number try out "Kmart phone number contact" Happy googling and hope you find what your looking for.

Personal Email Account for Life

E-mail Print
Ever changed Internet service providers, only to find your email account is locked in with them? Well if you sign up with Google Gmail you will never have to worry about your mail account again. Best thing is you can access it from work, home or anywhere the Internet is available. sign up today at www.gmail.com. Trust me, it's definitely worth it. The benefit of Gmail are the ability to use Google's great search engine algorithms to find exactly the mail you want, in the same manner as using Google search. Another nifty feature is the ability to view your email grouped via conversations. They definitely have some smart cookies working over at Google. i wonder what stock prices are worth.

A scenario in which this is particularly helpful is when a nasty Trojan attaches itself to your computer and begins transmitting all your personal information to the Internet, PC TOOLS Firewall stops it. This product is super simple to use and highly recommended by myself. You can download a copy of PC TOOLS Firewall from there website at http://www.pctools.com/firewall/
